This self-taught artist specializes in traditional and contemporary Native American Indian jewelry. Fabrication method includes hand crafted stamp work, overlaying technique, also craft jewelry utilizing tufa sand casting and lost-wax casting procedures. Guarantee and Return PolicyByia Designs guarantees the workmanship and authenticity for each piece of jewelry. If for any reason you are not happy with the quality or craftsmanship, please return for a full refund within 2 days after receiving your purchase.
Special orders are encouraged, because it is an integral part of our business. You may see a certain piece in our gallery that is not available for immediate sale, or you may want a particular piece of jewelry with different stone, or constructed in a different form of metal. We will require 50% down payment on special orders and please send us an email or contact us by phone so we can process your request.
You must notify us immediately upon receiving your purchase if you are not satisfied. In some cases, size may not work for certain pieces like bracelets and rings. In this case, merchandise can be returned for resizing if possible.
Our studio is remote and it requires we maintain a PO Box in order for us to mail. Your order is send insured priority US Mail and usually takes 2-4 days for U.S. delivery. There is a $10.00 shipping & handling charge for CONUS and $25.00 for international orders, which may take 10 days for delivery.
You must notify us immediately upon receiving your purchase if you need size adjustment. Ring enlargement is free of charge but a small fee may be required for decreasing in size. Bracelet adjustments will be taken case by case so please contact us immediately for recommendation.
Born in Southwestern Arizona on the Navajo Indian Reservation, Norman was fortunate to have experienced childhood traditionally and in today's modern way of Navajo life. Influence from his elders, grandmother a rug weaver and both parents silversmith paved way for him at an early age for his creativity and discovering hidden talents to emerge.
Inspired by the beauty of Navajo tradition, belief and culture Norman incorporates nature's designs such as the earth, the sun, the moon, the clouds, to the simplest element known to Navajo in his artwork. Unlike most jewelers, Norman fabricates his own stamping tools which are produced from high carbon steel. These symmetrically shaped stamping tools give intricate detail to execute one-of-kind master pieces. Always eager and motivated, his latest adventure would be found in sculpting, designing with lost wax casting technique and setting diamonds along with other precious gems.
Today Norman resides in Coolidge Arizona, employed in the field of civil engineering for the Indian Health Service. 8 hour workday is demanding but there is always time to express one's life interpretations.
